Honolulu on July 4–Just a Day Off

I am originally from New York, one of the original 13 colonies. It is interesting to compare life in New York to life in Hawaii, the last state admitted to the Union, from the point of view of feelings of a national identity. Of course in New York, on Independence Day, there are big celebrations. But in Honolulu, this is not the case. That is because there are a lot of mixed feelings about belonging to the United States, given the recent history of colonialism and America’s illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy. There are many people who remember when Hawaii was not a state, and of course, there are people with relatives who were alive when Hawaii was not a state. And Hawaii became a part of United States through colonial measures, which of course were not always well received by people who are robbed. This is very different from New York, which was one of the building blocks of the country there was never really any history, in my life anyway of feeling that we were not American we should not be American. So in Honolulu, they is no state sponsored big celebration of the Fourth of July. At least none that I know. There might be a few minor fireworks, but the real fireworks displays are on New Year’s. People from the mainland don’t want to offend any of the locals by celebrating a holiday that they don’t feel good about so the Fourth of July is really just another day off. It does not have a holiday feel the way you might be used to it from the place like New York t

This reality is just something to know if you are moving over here and I highly recommend moving over here because you could have a really good realtor like me helping you, lol it’s always good to get a sense of place. If you can before you make the big move and since I studied anthropology in college, I am particularly adept at looking at the culture and passing on lessons that might be helpful to those coming from elsewhere

How do Native American reservations handle the Fourth of July holiday? is this Holiday experience similar to the holiday experience in Honolulu, which is to say there is not much of a holiday experience in Honolulu when it comes to July 4?

I want to sell real estate but when there’s trouble with how I pay my bills

I am not living the dream. For the sake of positivity I will say that I am doing everything I can to make my dreams come true. I don’t know which way to go. It was all complicated by becoming unemployed. I did not waste any time in that state and I got another job. Doing what I have to do. But still…So that explains my absence. Just coping. And I am getting back on the horse, trying to get real estate leads. I am sure a couple identification you out there can relate!

I was not aware that this COVID-19 program existed. I have discovered that when I don’t know something, I don’t have to feel bad because chances are, someone else doesn’t know that very same thing. Therefore, I am posting this homeowner assistance program from the federal government so that if you are unaware of it, you can take advantage of it. The era of COVID-19 funding is almost over. This program will be extinct soon. Check it out now. Use it if it is useful for you. In addition to listings, I am going to provide lots of other information for the homeowners and they would be homeowners that are out there among my leadership.
