Your Trusted REALTOR in Honolulu: Aloha Spirit and Real Estate

Thiz is Hawaii’s Tangee Lazarus, REALTOR(c), and I am a newly licensed real estate agent. I am introducing myself to the world by talking anout what it is like to live in Honolulu. Maybe you will decide you want ro live where I have been living for many years. Moreover, you might decide to make wise choice and work with me as your real estate agent and trusted advisor.

How does the spirit of aloha show itself when there is potential for a serious natural disaster. Thankfully, nothing happened but as the tsunami watch bexame a tsunami warning we had to take it seriously. To me, Aloha is caring for the next person at the community level, instead of just looking out for #1 (oneself). No one ran red lights. There was no road rage. People politely waited in long lines at gas stations, and many did not fill their tanks completely in order to share the limited supply of feul that is at gas stations at any one time.

Al.ost every island has a “mayor” and that is different from the mainland understansing of mayor, a person elected to govern individual cities. For example, the mayor of Honolulu is for the island of Oahu, although tbere are a few small towns on Oahu that do not have “Honolulu” as a mailing address. The mayors spoke over radio and television, urging people to act with Aloha and, for example, check on their disabled neighbors and help those who needed assistance getting to shelters.

In my opinion, Aloha is not as much about intimacy but about conducting oneself in a way that is kinder and gentler because people perceive themselves as an impactful part of Hawaii who have spheres of influence that intersect. Each person has a role in making Hawaii a place where a person is likely to get a safe ride with strangers in a time of imminent crisis. I find it rather nice.

If Hawaii sounds like a place for you, I can be the real estate agent who makes rhat happen. Call or text (808) 367-4278 any time.
